OUR EVENTS We regularly hold a number of events, some of our recent ones are shown below. Upcoming events will be announced via our newsletter and on social media.
Yoga & Pamper Retreat – 8th September 2022
6 Parent Carers came along to our first ever Brave exclusive Yoga and Pamper retreat with Balanced Health Hut and Little Yoga Studio UK.
Each Parent Carer was treated to a yoga and meditation session, hour long pamper, lunch provided by Bonnie’s Café and most importantly a safe space to connect with people who really understand.
Big Brave Summer Donation – 23rd June 2022
We donated 164 Brave Bags to The Pioneer School in Basildon – one for every child to take home to their Parent Carer. This was our biggest donation yet!
A big thank you to Roddas Cream, Yorkshire Tea and Woodland Bakery UK for donating items for us to create an afternoon tea. Our wonderful supporters purchased pamper items and extra sweet treats from our Amazon Wishlist. We say it a lot, but we really couldn’t do this without your support.
A Day In My Shoes – 23rd April 2022
Many people do not understand the ‘behind the scenes’ of being a Parent Carer.. but we do!
Our ‘A Day in my Shoes’ campaign on 23rd April was to raise Parent Carer awareness to non medical parents, inviting friends and family to have a virtual day in their shoes.
By taking part, they experienced the physical tasks of what they need to do to keep their child well. What it didn’t include was the emotional side which can be just as heavy.
This campaign was to gain understanding and have a small insight into the life of a Parent Carer. We wanted family and friends to be able to use this knowledge to further support their loved ones.
A big well done to the brave Parent Carers who shared their timetables and big thanks to the family and friends who showed their support by taking part.
In Person Coffee Morning – 2021
It isn’t always easy to visit somewhere new on your own so a big well done to all the Brave parents who came along to meet people in a similar situation.. some travelling quite far.
A huge thank you to SNAP Charity for talking with all our families and Daily Bread Cafe for providing tea and cakes.
